This blog belongs to Paul Brunsvold, my friend and mentor! Everyone please check out his work, he is a very talented taxidermist and sculptor.
Yes, YOU. I’m talking to you.
Snuggle up close, beloved. Lean on my shoulder.
I’m glad you’re here. I was worried you wouldn’t make it, that somewhere along the weary days and lonely nights you’d give up or become stagnant.
But you didn’t.
Somewhere, you’re reading these words trapped under a pane of glass, hearing the whispers of a thousand digital snakes as they lick at your eyes and fingertips. But let’s pretend that’s not the case, and that we’re tucked up together somewhere you feel safe and it’s not too cold or too warm or too dark or too bright.
Let’s breathe together for a moment. It’s okay to take a break sometimes. Do you mind if I hold your hand? It’s important to be touched. It’s important to be loved.
And you are loved. Don’t look so incredulous, it’s not inconceivable. In fact, it’s inevitable. Look at the depth behind those eyes, look at how miraculously your heart has managed to hold such pain and anger and secret midnight dreams and still keep beating. You’re impressively strong. Resilient.
Look at you, building up your corner of the world. Look at what you’re filling it with! It’s exciting, watching you build. Your struggles are divine. I love you for them.
Stay for awhile, don’t be a stranger. Let me know if you need anything. I’d like to try and help, if you’re into that. At the very least, I can let you know I’m watching, I see what you’ve been up against and how you’re beating it back and pushing for brilliance. I’m very proud of you.
Even if you don’t think it, you are important and loved. Thank you for sharing some of your time with me today.
